Links that show like "http://***************.com" are from hosts that are not allowed on planet suzy usually because they are obsolete, redirecting or known spyware/malware hosts.

There is nothing wrong with the post or on your side or the forum side, It is just the forum automatically replacing the banned host name with *************** so the link will not work on this site.

EDIT: Since people seem to have a problem finding this thread i made it sticky.

They are links which were posted on a now banned host.
If you provide a link to the specific post you're referring to, someone may be able to ID which host it was and you can manually copy/edit the link and go there.

Most of ******** links are now dead filehosts like Luckyshare and similar hosts. Staff can see what ******** originally was, but in case of 1st pages in Allison's pics thread it is Luckyshare ( dead host ).

Your best bet is PMing original poster to ask for mirror, or contributing little to forum community with helpful and interesting posts and then try in request thread.

An Admin has to set vBulletin's censor options...so that each letter of the dead hosts name is changed to *.

We do not have the option to change it to something more useful like "this file is deader than a dodo" because it doesn't replace the dead filehost's name with a new name it replaces each letter of the censored word with "*".
I think, but I'd have to check, that "*" is the only character it will allow you to use when censoring.

Oh, actually according to the manual, we may have a choice of which single character it is:

Character to Replace Censored Words - This character will be used to replace censored words. For example, if you have censored the word 'dog' and you set the censor character here to an asterisk (*) then any occurrences of 'dog' in messages will appear as '***'.

There's a way to set it so that it would recognise "dog", but not words containing "dog"; useful when spammers come and post their dodgy site links as well.
